Handyman/property maintenance engineer handling repairs and tenant relations

Tasks
-Conduct professional and friendly property viewings for prospective new tenants. -Be the face of Rent In Kent, delivering an outstanding customer-facing service to all tenants and handling queries with professionalism and empathy. -Assist the lettings team with the tenant move-in and move-out process, including key handovers and property inspections. -Act as our primary "on-the-ground" contact, working in close daily coordination with company Directors and our offshore administrative/lettings teams to ensure a seamless service. -Conduct a wide range of reactive and planned maintenance, including basic plumbing (e.g., fixing leaks, changing taps), basic carpentry (e.g., hanging doors, fitting locks), painting & decorating, patch plastering, and other general repairs.

What You Bring
-Collaborative & Tech-Savvy: You are a great team player, comfortable using apps (like WhatsApp, email, and job management software) to coordinate daily with our offshore teams and directors. -Exceptional Customer-Facing Skills: This is a front-line role and a key requirement. You must be an excellent communicator, genuinely enjoy helping people, and be able to build a positive rapport with tenants. -Local: You are based in or around Kent and are happy to travel across the region. -Multi-skilled: You have proven experience as a Handyman or in a multi-trade role, with good skills in decorating, basic plumbing, and basic carpentry. -Diagnose faults and demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills to find creative, efficient, and lasting solutions. -Fully Equipped: You must have your own reliable van or suitable vehicle AND a comprehensive set of professional tools, including those for common carpentry and plumbing jobs. -An Elite Problem-Solver: We need someone who doesn't just spot problems, but finds creative, efficient, and lasting solutions. You must have a proactive, "can-do" attitude and the ability to think independently. -Organised: You are able to manage a varied workload, switching between a maintenance job and a scheduled tenant viewing. -Travel between our properties in Kent (Maidstone, Ashford, Ramsgate etc.) and SE London. -Licensed: You must hold a full, valid UK driving licence.
