What You Bring

-A NYS CDL Class A (restricted) or higher, or ability to obtain one within 6 months. -Ability to read and thoroughly understand complicated electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic/hydraulic diagrams and construction prints. -OSHA crane certification, or ability to obtain one within 6 months -A two-year degree or certificate in Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology or Electric Construction/ Maintenance from an accredited college or university or equivalent as determined by management is preferred. -Must have a high school diploma or GED -Must demonstrate sufficient computer and technology abilities. -Must be able to perform strenuous work including work at elevated heights and confined spaces. -Electrician Journeyman experience is preferred. -Must pass validated aptitude test. -A minimum of three years’ experience with diverse types of energized and de-energized substation equipment, rubber gloving, climbing and electrical operating procedure skills. -Must be able to operate all equipment such as aerial lifts, boom trucks, fork trucks, and articulating lifts, backhoes, and other equipment associated with construction and maintenance. -Subject to the Memorandum of Agreement Regarding Residency, live within 35 miles of posting location. -Must pass physical abilities examination. -Must have a valid drivers license -Must possess a thorough knowledge of equipment, standards and practices applicable to this type of work, and have a working knowledge of fundamental theory relating thereto.
