Tasks

-Serve as the corporate lead for OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) initiatives. -Deliver training in key areas (HazCom, CPR/First Aid, emergency response, confined space, etc.). -Lead implementation of corporate safety standards across all chemical sites, ensuring alignment with OSHA and Milliken EHS expectations. -Lead and coordinate safety risk-reduction projects across chemical manufacturing sites. -Act as subject matter expert (SME) for: -Support the evaluation of new product chemical hazards in partnership with the Development team. -Maintain and analyze data using the company’s EHS reporting system and develop performance metrics. -Integrate newly acquired sites into Milliken’s EHS systems and daily management processes. -Support incident investigations and root-cause analyses; develop corrective and preventive actions. -Facilitate safety audits, pre-startup safety reviews (PSSR), and behavioral safety observations. -Develop and manage a Center of Excellence for safety leaders to share best practices and training.

What You Bring

-Familiarity with ISO 45001, RC14001, or ISO 9001 management systems. -Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. -Advanced degree (M.S. in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or Chemical Engineering). -Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence at multiple organizational levels. -Proven track record leading or implementing Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, or Industrial Hygiene programs. -Demonstrated working knowledge of OSHA regulations to include PSM (Process Safety management). -Minimum 7 years of safety experience in a chemical manufacturing or process industry environment. -Professional certifications: CSP, CIH, CHMM, or equivalent. -Lockout/Tagout/Tryout (LOTO) programs -Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related discipline. -Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint for data tracking and reporting. -This position requires candidates to be eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship for a work visa (e.g., H-1B, TN, etc.). -Experience leading VPP Star certification or major safety program implementations.
