Civil CAD Design Technician III

Overview

Design and produce civil/site CAD drawings, calculations, and project deliverables.

Tasks

-Perform high level design computations, earthwork calculations and prepare complete construction plans. -Work from sketches to produce computer-generated graphs, charts, overlays and isometric drawings including digital terrain models and surfaces. -Perform grading, utility, stormwater and soil erosion/sediment control design. -Prepare project exhibits. -Prepare and detail plans by analyzing sketches, notes and other input material to determine the best approach for the completion of drawings. -Calculate quantity takeoffs and prepare cost estimates. -Prepare CAD files for authorized media release to external parties / agencies. -Determine and calculate stormwater drainage areas and steep slope areas. -Prepare concept layout plans. -Coordinate details and dimensions between drawing sheets. -Work with numerous project teams to help in project completion.

What You Bring

-Demonstrate general computer skills, knowledge, and acumen (i.e., familiarity with Microsoft Office, etc.). -Conform to the company’s standard CADD procedures for layering, etc., and standard drawing procedures for sheet layout. -Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions. -5+ years of relevant experience. -Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other related software. -Address assignments of increased difficulty as proficiency is increased. -High School Diploma/Equivalent; Associates Degree or a Certificate from a technical school, preferably in AutoCAD.
