Facilitate daily toolbox talks and weekly safety inspections to ensure the crews work safely.
Obtain all necessary licenses, permits, and materials for each job.
Drive, haul, and/or operate equipment to/from job sites to assist crews in completion of work.
Inspect existing utilities are properly identified and exposed, to ensure piping is correctly installed and fused, job meets customer specifications, and it meets company quality standards.
Oversee and coordinate crew work to install natural gas pipelines via open-cut or directional drill methods.
Complete all paperwork in a timely manner.
Oversee, accomplish, and ensure all work quality related to each project and assume full responsibility for its standard and timeliness.
Call in utilities located at each project site.
Communicate with customers and inspectors.
Gain entry to site buildings for work crew and call-in utilities located at each project site.
Train new hires and trainees to learn the trade.
Keep the job(s) moving on time, clean up, and perform job restoration at the end of job.
Coordinate and delegate daily tasks to crew members related to digging and placing product.
Track employee hours and submit for payroll on a timely basis.

A High School Degree, or equivalent
Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more or 20 inches or less, with the ability to judge distance and space relationships
Must have experience in operating heavy equipment and general construction
OSHA 10 Certification
Ability to work outdoors, even in extreme weather conditions.
Ability to visually inspect fusion or welded joints, spot utilities, and locate marks on the ground by color
Must follow proper safety standards, procedures, and work practices according to MasTec and/or project customer, whichever standard is higher at all times
Ability to talk with customers’ inspectors and have a sense of customer service
Precise hand-eye coordination
Be proficiency in all phases of the line in construction
Ability to identify and distinguish colors
Be proficiency in fusing, tapping, pressure testing, and purging
A minimum of 3 years of experience with gas pipeline construction or maintenance, with 2 years of supervisory experience
Knowledge of customer’s specifications, being able to read and interpret prints
Must have a CDL Class A license, or obtain one within 30 days of hire date
Must have knowledge of gas, and how to safely work with it
