The Role

Overview

Traveling field engineer installing, commissioning, and servicing power converters and drives.

Tasks

-Conduct on-site interpretation of data and technical instruction. -Provide and assist quality team with root cause analysis and generate reports in case of equipment malfunction or failures to identify/analyse any undesirable trends. -Provide technical assistance and supervision to customers on the installations. -Provide technical assistance through on-site guidance and training in proper operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of assigned programs and ground support equipment. -Hands-on on-site parts replacement, testing, and verification of electrical equipment. -Adhere with company Health and Safety policies and work in safe and best practice manner to ensure the wellbeing of personnel and equipment are not compromised. -Provide management with complete and prompt information and report regarding safety & project/service status, customer or equipment problems, and failures, -Complete site documentations such as weekly safety update, installations check lists, pre-commissioning, and commissioning procedures.

What You Bring

-Hands-on experience and knowledge of test instruments (recorders, power analysers, oscilloscopes, Insulation resistance, HI pot etc.) -Fluent oral and written English communication skills -Pre-commission, commission, and service static frequency converters (SFC) and variable frequency (VFD) low voltage and medium voltage drives/switchgear/transformers and power systems. -Able to interface at upper management and peers levels of the organization both internally and externally in clear and methodical manner -Willing to travel including distant in-country or aboard limited duration visits and with short notice in advance -High job ethics -Proven analytical and quality improvement ability -Able to interface at all levels of the organization both internally and externally -Team worker with ability to share and coordinate tasks among members of the group -Good understanding of Health and Safety, and risks / Hazards involved. -Comfortable to sail on marine vessels if needed and remain offshore for defined number of days. -Strong interpersonal and leadership skills -Solid understanding of Power Electronics, Electric Circuit, Electric Power Systems, Medium Voltage, Harmonics, with good hands-on skill. -Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers. Good literacy in at least one computer programming language. -Electrical engineering bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited university or college
