Tasks

-You will be responsible for the review and analysis of drawings for possible safety and constructability problems prior to issuance to clients. -You will provide clients with engineering support to meet their needs and incorporate client suggestions for future requirements in a timely, efficient, and costeffective manner. This includes attending client meetings, which may at times be remote, as well as corresponding directly with the client. -As a member of the electrical team, your primary duties will include: Power system design and analysis in accordance with applicable codes for surface and underground mining operations. -Development and completion of power systems analysis models using ETAP, EasyPower and/or SKM. -Completion of fitforpurpose designs that meet the client’s needs and requests. -Lead the preparation and coordination of electrical construction drawings, such as: Single line diagrams (SLDs) -You will regularly interface with other disciplines and departments to execute projects. -Completing inspections and condition assessments for electrical and communications infrastructure (this may include climbing ladders and walking / standing for extended periods of time). -Report project progression updates and/or issues to Lead Designers or Project Managers. -Incorporation of innovation, optimization, and standardization in designs as appropriate considering constructability and economics. -Participates and collaborates in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought. -Checks the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manages time to meet project budget and schedule. -You will learn and work within Stantec's quality control guidelines. -Act as an EngineerofRecord for projects and/or project components. -Safety is a core value for Stantec. What You Bring

-Previous experience as a Lead Engineer on detailed engineering/construction projects with a consulting firm or Owner’s team is an asset. -Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university. -5+ years of engineering, design, and construction experience in heavy industry, particularly surface or underground mining. -Willingness to travel to client sites or other Stantec offices (~10% travel). -Demonstrated leadership skills and project engineering experience. -Selfstarter, with the ability to handle change and work with minimal supervision. You must be a contemplative person who is willing to challenge your own work as well as the work of those around you. -Excellent knowledge of applicable design codes and familiarity with Mine Safety and Health Administration Regulations. -Motor control schematics -Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent interpersonal abilities and willingness to work in a team atmosphere. -Professional Engineering license is required.
