  • Ensure that all safety policies and procedures are followed, driving a zero-incident project environment
  • May be required to lift, carry, push or pull up to and including 25 pounds
  • Provide engineering input for improved automation and product packaging opportunities
  • Design and specify environmentally compliant equipment and processes, ensure that all permit requirements are considered and addressed in the design, and that potential environmental issues are identified and addressed during project execution
  • Develop bid request documentation, supplier lists, bid evaluations, and make recommendations for purchasing
  • Provide project management and oversight for all aspects and phases for multiple project assignments concurrently and drives projects to completion
  • Prepare, review, deliver, and implement necessary training to maintenance and operations hourly workforce regarding the project
  • Follows the trends in technology and equipment design by visiting tradeshows / exhibitions and key vendors.
  • Drives the iteration of options to identify in the end the most optimal technical solution to meet the cost/performance improvements defined in the business case.
  • Prepare, organize, document, and archive project documentation
  • Communication of the results in the engineering team to support the continuous improvement.
  • Develop, guide, review, and present project feasibility studies and business cases that accurately identify project benefits, risks, and returns project assignments concurrently and driving projects to completion
  • Drives a continuous lesson learned logbook through the project and drives the analysis after finishing the project.
  • Coach and mentor project staff and assigned operations team, and assist them to solve problems and meet company, division and departmental objectives.
  • Estimate costs of an approved project, resources and time required to complete.
  • Work with Engineering Leaders and Procurement to evaluate potential engineering firms and contractors
  • Works proactively with process engineers, production, and maintenance departments to solve process and equipment issues, and to identify improvement opportunities based on joint performance reviews with coworkers.
  • Execute investment projects with a budget of $5M to $60M with medium/high complexity according the CPP process and requirements described below:
  • Supervises/Leads individuals or a project team to achieve milestones and objectives by setting priorities and providing direction. Will provide feedback for performance evaluations.
  • Maintain effective communication to management and project customers regarding project status, problems, and changes Apply lean manufacturing concepts to all aspects of design and project execution
  • Review Mechanical and/or Electrical Controls detail engineering for all project aspects Ensure compliance to technical specifications and contracts for equipment and services for all aspects of projects
  • Design of safe processes and specification of safe equipment, ensures that ergonomics are considered in all areas of design, and that potential safety and health hazards are identified and eliminated during project execution
  • Coordinate, review, provide oversight and manage external engineering resources and consultants as needed
  • Ensures that Lessons Learned are considered in design considerations. Evaluates vendors in close cooperation with procurement to check cost/performance and decides according the project RACI on the sourcing plan

  • Solid knowledge in contract design and legal requirements
  • Strong project management skills with projects up to $25M
  • Demonstrated high level of drive and initiative to complete assigned tasks and investigate and seek out improvement opportunities
  • Proficient in project scheduling software (MS Project, Primavera)
  • Interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Leadership skills
  • Proven ability to negotiate and manage change
  • Exposure to SAP systems a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Ability to interface at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
  • Heavy travel required (30%-60%)
  • Experience managing contractors and sub-contractors, including bid process
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Works with limited guidance, effectively self-directed, both independently and in a team environment
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, (chemical, electrical or mechanical) with a minimum of 5 years engineering experience in industrial or manufacturing industry
  • Experience preparing estimates, schedules and project deliverables
