Tasks

-Serve guests in an efficient courteous manner following the proper steps of service -Be aware of any specials, soups, drinks, and any items that are running low -Manage differing personalities within the office, the hotel, and the community -Collect and process payment for food and beverages served -Maintain a clean and orderly bar area -Follow standard TIPS practices to ensure safe and responsible serving of alcohol -Curate guests’ bar experience by making recommendations -Maintain the highest degree of confidentiality -Work on multiple tasks, making appropriate progress towards deadlines

What You Bring

-Follow appropriate cash handling procedures as established by Accounting, and must be able to explain shortages and overages -Knowledge of all beverages to include liquors, wines, and beers -Have necessary tools to run the shift such as pen, corkscrew, bar tools, etc. -Clean glasses, utensils, coolers, and bar equipment -Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written -Excellent customer service skills -Make sound judgments quickly -Light food running when applicable, ability to carry plates that may be warm or hot -Able to work independently, take direction, and provide direction to others -Corrected vision to normal range -High School diploma or higher -Ability to work effectively in stressful, high pressure situations -Ability to handle station, or when situations arise, ability to let manager/supervisor know ahead of time of any issues that may affect the guest experience -General knowledge of cocktail crafting and mixology fundamentals -Ability to use technology e.g. tablets, iPads -Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time -Minimum 2-year bartending experience in high volume bar or restaurant preferable in the Southwest, Florida area -Ability to effectively handle challenges in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary -Previous hospitality experience required -Understanding that the bar serves full food & drink menu and must be prepared to serve full coursed and/or shared meals to guests -Knowledge of all menu items to include prep time, preparations, sauces, allergies, and accompaniments -Ability to pair wines with meals -Ability to lift 20 pounds or more -Ability to work long hours as needed -Ability to communicate clearly -Knowledge of proper cocktail making, as trained by Oxbow Bar & Grill
