Tasks
Direct and manage all accounting operations, including corporate, property-level, fixed asset, and construction project accounting. Support acquisitions, dispositions, and other growth initiatives. Oversee treasury operations, cash management, and banking relationships. Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate and timely consolidated financial statements. Collaborate with leadership team to develop and align budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning with company objective. Provide timely financial reporting and insights to support Asset Management, Property Management, Construction Project Management and Operations teams. Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, lenders, and investors. Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a high-performance culture focused on professional growth, accountability, and continuous improvement. Maintain and refine accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to align with best practices. Oversee tax, compliance, and audit activities in coordination with external advisors; implement recommendations to strengthen internal controls and improve accuracy. Partner with the Vice President of Finance to provide financial insights, trend analysis, and scenario modeling to support data-driven business decisions. The Corporate Controller will serve as a subject matter expert in real estate accounting and reporting, bringing deep industry knowledge and expertise with Yardi systems. This role oversees the full accounting cycle, ensuring the integrity of financial data, compliance with GAAP, regulatory standards, and company policies, while providing strategic financial insights to support company growth.

What You Bring
Commercial real estate industry experience required; strong background in construction accounting, including job cost reporting, WIP schedules, contract compliance, and project cost tracking, preferred. Expertise with Yardi Voyager required. Commitment to delivering efficient, timely, and courteous service to internal and external stakeholders, with the ability to manage conflict professionally. Strong leadership presence and ability to model company values in all aspects of job performance. Excellent communication skills including the ability to negotiate, explain complex concepts and issues, and use tact and diplomacy in sensitive situations. Skilled at team management, prioritization, and delegation across multiple workstreams. 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with 5+ years in a leadership role. Ability to solve problems involving several different options and convey the positive and negative attributes of these options to leadership. Demonstrated success leading teams through growth, change, and continuous improvement Highly detailed-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills; able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA strongly preferred. Able to review, analyze and interpret legal and financial documents accurately. Strong technical accounting knowledge including GAAP, real estate accounting, internal controls, and compliance).
