The Role

Overview

Lead senior surveyor managing safety, quality and coordination of manual monitoring on Ontario Line.

Tasks

-Supervise the installation of monitoring points as well as reference control points to ensure the quality of the geometry. -Maintain Monitoring Control Point data base. -Lead safety briefings and toolbox talks at the beginning of each shift, emphasizing safety in all operations. -Reduce crowding on the existing Line 1 (Yonge-University) subway. -Coordinate with other shift engineers, subcontractors, etc. to ensure that our crews can access the site and perform their duties. -Keep the Manual Monitoring Survey instruments inventory updated. -Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, ensuring all site activities comply with local and industry regulations. o Conduct daily safety inspections, identifying potential hazards, and implementing preventive measures. -Improve the quality of life for commuters by reducing daily travel time. -Coordinate with crews to ensure that the instrument verification procedure is monthly performed. -Oversee the quality of the data obtained by manual monitoring crews. -Coordinate with crews the preparation of daily troubleshooting reports to inform Construction teams about the health of the points being monitored. -Conduct regular inspections to detect deficiencies in manual monitoring crews’ performance. -Participate in shift handovers, ensuring that all critical information is communicated clearly to the incoming team.

What You Bring

-Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment. -Bachelor’s degree in Geomatic Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related field. -Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. -(Optional) RRSP matching -Proven experience in coordinating activities with different departments. -Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and best practices in construction. -Proficiency in using engineering software and tools for documentation, reporting, and quality control. -Minimum of 5 years of experience in surveying and 3 years of experience leading teams.
