Tasks

-While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, walk, bend and occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds. -Collaborate with roadway, utility, and environmental teams to ensure design integration and constructability. -Prepare drainage design calculations, reports, and construction plans in accordance with FDOT, local, and federal requirements. -Participate in field visits, data collection, and construction support activities as needed. -Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using software such as ICPR, HEC-RAS, HY-8, ASAD, and other stormwater modeling tools. -Contribute to project reports, specifications, cost estimates, and technical presentations. -Design and analyze stormwater management systems, conveyance systems, retention/detention ponds, and culverts. -Perform quality reviews of design work and coordinate with senior staff for mentorship and technical guidance. -Support preparation of Permit applications and supporting documentation for local, state, and federal agencies (FDOT, FDEP, SWFWMD, SFWMD, etc.).

We’re seeking a Drainage Engineer with experience in water resources, stormwater management, and hydraulic design to join our growing Transportation Design team. This role plays a key part in developing drainage systems for roadway and infrastructure projects across Florida. The ideal candidate is a technically strong, detail-oriented engineer who enjoys problem-solving and collaborating across disciplines to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions. This role is ideal for someone who is technically strong, detail-oriented, and passionate about developing innovative drainage and stormwater solutions that support safe, sustainable, and resilient infrastructure. The right candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and enjoy working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality projects that shape the future of mobility. -Roadway design experience a plus. -Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (Master’s preferred). -Strong technical writing, communication, and teamwork skills. -Knowledge of FDOT drainage design standards, procedures, and permitting processes. -Occasional travel to other company locations may be required for team/client meetings, company events, or collaborative projects. -Proficiency with MicroStation, AutoCAD Civil 3D, ICPR, HEC-RAS, ASAD, and/or StormCAD. -5–8 years of relevant experience in drainage, stormwater, or water resources design. -Ability to manage tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. -P.E. (Professional Engineer) in Florida preferred or the ability to obtain within 12 months.
