Plans and coordinates the activities of each assigned project for quality and accuracy of work. This includes performing estimates, scheduling tasks, achieving goals and standards. Leads the creation of all bids, documents, and reports accurately, complete, and professionally.
Composes, plans, coordinates, and controls all assigned estimates to maximum time while meeting project deadlines to customers and co-workers.
Utilizes estimating software to properly estimate projects. Ensures all estimates and RFPs are fulfilled to the customers’ or the Company’s conditions for satisfaction. Stays informed of new electrical codes, technology, techniques, and practices. Surveys job sites as needed for scope of work and to determine the most cost effective and efficient plans possible.
Secures and reviews quotes from subcontractors with the estimator on that project. Plans all project take-offs to optimize efficiency of labor. Attends and leads estimate review meetings on all estimates. Assists in the interview procurement process and the proposal writing for RFPs.
Establishes and maintains a positive and cooperative working relationship with clients, subcontractors, and co-workers. Coaches and mentors other estimators and co-workers on large projects.
Works with the project manager and chief estimator to determine the general expenses, labor rates, and other costs associated with each project. Works with the design department on design build projects to assure an accurate and constructible project. Works with the purchasing department to reduce the risk of material buyouts.
