Overview

Assist in design and study of public works infrastructure projects under PE mentorship.

Tasks

-Estimates materials, equipment, and labor needed to determine an estimate of probable construction costs. -Collaborate with a talented design team on public works projects. -Drafts reports and present plans to audiences with a wide range of backgrounds and technical knowledge, translating engineering and scientific information into easily digestible concepts. -Halff’s Context Sensitive Solutions (CSS) experts ensure projects are designed in a manner sensitive to the environment and its context, without cost increases. -Diverse and interdisciplinary teams can manage projects from inception through completion. -Use design software and drawing tools to accurately render and communicate study results and designs; plans and designs other necessary and related systems and improvements.

What You Bring

-Extremely detail-oriented and accurate. -State and Federal Grant Writing -Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar productivity software. -Passed the FE exam or able to pass within 6 months of hire. -Technical experience in computer-assisted design (CAD), AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other design, modeling, data recording, and analyzation related software. -2-5 years of experience in Public Works projects. -Able to balance multiple and frequently conflicting objectives and make good decisions. -Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree. -Knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and tools. -Our QA/QC Program is designed to achieve high-quality deliverables. -Knowledge of the materials, methods, and equipment involved in the construction or repair of civil engineering related improvements. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
