Precast Design Engineer

Overview

Design precast concrete components for civil/structural projects.

Key Responsibilities

Tasks

-Create accurate drawings, plans, and specifications for precast projects aligned with industry design standards. -Collaborate with project teams to deliver structurally sound, cost-effective, and visually appealing precast concrete designs. -Support cost estimation for materials -Lead and execute precast engineering and design tasks efficiently. -Support Project Managers and Designers throughout the project lifecycle. -Guide and mentor junior staff. -Engage with dynamic groups such as the Community Impact and Fun Committees, Fisher Minds (ERG), and the Employee Advisory Group. -Perform and review structural analysis and calculations to ensure safety under various loads and conditions. -Promote, utilize and support QA/QC processes to guarantee quality deliverables. -Select materials and components for precast concrete production that meet strength, durability, and sustainability standards.

What You Bring

-5 -10 years minimum Precast concrete design engineering experience -B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, Master’s preferred -Familiarity with IBC codes a plus -Driven to own projects, prioritize effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment -Professional Engineering License (PE) preferred or ability to obtain it -You thrive in a culture that celebrates fun and fosters a relaxed, easy-going atmosphere, so you can bring the best of yourself to work every day. -Highly adaptable and proactive in meeting deliverables and deadlines. -Professional performance standards aligned with Fisher’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values. -Proven ability to deliver quality work through critical thinking, problem-solving, and sound judgment -Familiarity with ACI 318, ACI 350, ASCE-7, AASHTO -Proficiency in AutoCAD & RISA 3D -Experience in precast concrete design engineering for transportation infrastructure and underground structures (utility vaults, manholes, drainage structures and pump stations) preferred
