Tasks

-Prepare drawings for civil, and structural elements of substation or transmission design as needed -Prepare initial and advanced design concepts during the proposal stage of projects with minimal information or guidance -Work in a team to develop and improve the system standards -Uphold high standards of professionalism and ethics within the organization -Carry Weight: infrequently carry weight and/or lift objects (light to heavy) weighing up to 10 pounds -Prepare various reports and documents such as bill of materials, basis of design, and studies as needed. -Participate in safety training sessions and adheres to safety rules and guidelines -Plays a key role in the development of CAD standards, considering the needs of both engineering and design departments -Assist with technical training for team members and new employees -Build a quality culture of continuous improvement that enhances company efficiency and engineering quality -Sustain excellent relationships with clients on behalf of the company -Design and develop detailed HV substation or transmission drawings. -Efficiently simplify project tasks within their discipline, enhancing productivity -Play a significant role in the Quality Assurance/Quality Control process, proactively taking ownership of project and task quality

What You Bring

-Noise level ranges from moderate to high (if on construction worksite) -Entry level or up to 2 years of engineering design experience in the high voltage substation or transmission -Noise level ranges from low to moderate (if in office setting) -Must have excellent technical communication abilities, including reading technical literature and engineering plans -Knowledge of the National Electric Code -An associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field -Strong in Microsoft Office Suite -Strong command of English language both written and spoken -Proficiency with AutoCAD is required -Excellent written and verbal communication skills -Stationary Position: frequently remains stationary up to 90% of the time and sitting up to 8 hours in a day -Relevant work experience in the electrical or physical design of substations or transmission lines -Regular attendance, in accordance with company's attendance policy and supervisory assignment, is an essential job duty requirement for this position -Sight: frequent use of sight to detect images on computer, office documents, and office objects near and far -Assertive, able to cope with pressure, a team player -Substation experience with drawings such as equipment layouts, single-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, conduit and cable sizing/routing, grounding design, trench section drawings, general arrangement, and elevations. -Hearing and Speech: frequently communicates with the ability to hear and talk on a regular basis with employees, coworkers, and all personnel matters; must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations -Transmission line experience with drawings such as Plan & Profiles, structures, phasing, and KMZ routes.
