Overview

Tasks

-Coordinates with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines. -Responding to emergency requests for repairs and replacements. -Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary. -Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines. -Scheduling and performing routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failures and ensure optimal performance. -Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures. -Repairs broken machines quickly and efficiently. -Plans repair work using the building's blueprints or equipment manual as needed. -Employees may be required to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods throughout the shift. -Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs. -Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance. -Cleans, maintains shop areas, including organizing, stocking, and inventorying parts, tools, and supplies. -Installing, modifying, and relocating machinery and equipment. -Identifies the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines. -Under the direction of the EH&S Specialist, will manage small to mid-sized projects such as safety policy implementation or waist/scrap measurement, recording, reporting, and disposal. -Adhering to safety regulations and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment. -Performs routine maintenance on building systems. -Prepares reports documenting work performed. - Maintaining accurate records of work performed, including repairs, maintenance, and inventory. -Will actively participate in the facility's Safety Committee.

What You Bring

-Working effectively with other team members, including production personnel and other maintenance staff. -Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery. -Some vocational or community college with related coursework or equivalent experience, required -The pace can be fast and may involve repetitive tasks or working with machinery. -The role is based in a manufacturing/factory environment and may involve exposure to loud noises, dust, fumes, and varying temperatures depending on the season. -Prolonged periods standing and walking. -Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors. -Must be able to visually inspect machines. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. -Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues. -Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures. -Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts. -Organizational Skills: Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks. -Oils and lubricates moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance. -Technical Skills: Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. -Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, and to work in various environments. -Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to work with tools and equipment, and a natural inclination towards mechanical tasks. -Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, earplugs, and steel-toed bor may be required, depending on the task.
