Principal -Water

Khatib & Alami

The Role

Overview

Lead design of water transmission and distribution systems, managing teams and client interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • hydraulic modeling
  • design review
  • cost analysis
  • value engineering
  • demand forecasting
  • client interaction

Tasks

The Principal leads the design teams during design delivery and manages design activities of water resources projects in K&A.He is the main counterpart of Project Managers and a key support in client interactions. He works closely with Project Managers for the review and validation of design deliverables and monitors the checking and reviews of all design phases and ensures the proper implementation of all related adjustments and revisions. -Perform hydraulic analysis and modeling of water supply and distribution systems to assess flow characteristics, pressure conditions, and system performance. -Carry out cost-benefit analyses for proposed water supply projects to support decision-making. -Coordinate across multidisciplinary teams (civil, mechanical, electrical, structural, and process) to ensure integration and consistency throughout all project stages. -Prepare and review all associated design drawings, reports, and technical documentation. -Identify and evaluate design alternatives for the development and optimization of new water resources. -Prepare and present engineering calculations, design reports, permit applications, and technical presentations for both internal and external stakeholders. -Review and validate design deliverables and incorporate revisions based on quality checks, peer reviews, and client feedback. -Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and design teams. -Collaborate with stakeholders to support value engineering initiatives and implement design optimization measures for assigned projects. -Design water storage facilities, including ground and elevated storage tanks and reservoirs. -Develop concept, schematic, detailed, and draft final designs for water transmission mains and distribution systems for potable and non-potable water supply networks. -Maintain a strong working knowledge of international design standards and codes applicable to water infrastructure projects. -Conduct water demand forecasting and analyze usage data to inform design capacity and infrastructure planning.
