Overview

Inspect, test and ensure quality of raw materials, in‑process parts and finished decking.

Tasks

-Read printed reports and data displayed on computer screens. -Wear and operate required safety equipment, including earplugs and safety glasses. -Perform physical tasks such as bending, squatting, and kneeling. -Stand and walk around for a 12.5+ hour shift. -Measurement and test equipment use and calibrations including hand tools, gauges, optical tools, balances, color meters, and force measuring instruments. -Sampling plans and proper sample preparation.

What You Bring

-Proficiency with using a computer. -Risk assessment reasoning. -Writing Skills: Write clear, simple sentences, complete technical forms, and apply basic math concepts like estimation and spatial reasoning. -Ability to work 12-hour shifts in a continuous manufacturing environment. -Oral Skills: Communicate effectively, respond to questions, and collaborate with supervisors and team members to support plant improvements. -Previous manufacturing experience. -Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite products. -Willingness to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as scheduled. -Fine motor skills to operate tools, including chop saws, staple guns, calipers and other test equipment. -Lift, push, and pull, up to 50 pounds. -Quality management system compliance. -Reading Skills: Interpret manuals, safety instructions, reports, and understand images, graphs, and coding systems in the work area. -Area management and housekeeping best practices. -Reliability: Maintain punctuality, stay composed in stressful situations, and work effectively in a structured environment. -Previous forklift operation experience. -Ability to operate a forklift. -Nonconforming materials and rework handling. -Strong English, reading, and writing skills for career advancement, including the ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and procedural documents. -Strong cross-functional communication skills. -Ability to operate various different styles of forklifts -High School Diploma or GED. -Inspection techniques and processes. -At least 18 years of age. -Data entry and analysis methods. -Process improvement and problem solving approaches.
