Tasks

-Complete Bill of Material for every design project. -Provide AutoCAD/Visio Climatec Design Tool labor and direction as required to complete submittals and other engineered documents accurately and professionally. -Maintain a satisfactory driving record which, per Climatec’s vehicle policy, if driving a company vehicle or participating in an auto allowance program. -Provide support for ongoing service engineering and support for existing building systems. -Assisting in project estimation, budgeting, and scheduling for BAS components. -Assist in managing the timeline, budget, and coordination of projects. -Provide support to Climatec and other contractors to solve building operating issues that go beyond the control’s operation. -Maintain clear documentation of design systems, wiring diagrams and software configurations. -Independently complete all specific design responsibilities with minimal supervision. -Collaborate with Project Managers to assist in generating Request for Information (RFIs) to clarify design issues and recommend appropriate solutions as necessary. -Assist Sales team during estimation/bid phase of the project by providing design support. -Facilitate with external customers/vendors as required to ensure accurate and timely engineering. -As assigned develop and maintain a library of engineering standards for both Climatec and the industry. -Accurately forecast necessary labor required to design a complete project and track this over time to achieve budget and forecast goals. -Develop system designs for BAS, including load calculations, equipment selection, and integration of various control systems. -Provide mentoring and direct day-to-day supervision to level 1 positions. -Communicate with internal employees as required to ensure engineering is accurate and timely. -Interpret project documents, estimate, and other information as available to select the proper equipment to achieve the scope of work required in the most effective and functional manner. -Provide detailed sequence of operations as required. -Proposing cost-effective technical solutions. -Suggest/recommend new products that provide better functionality and value to projects. -Design Industrial Building Automation Controls projects to meet scope of work and budget as defined by contract documents and sales estimate ensuring equipment compatibility.

What You Bring

-Ability to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook electronic e-mail system. -Proficiency of Autocad and/or Visio for BAS Design -Familiarity with generating and managing RFIs (Requests for Information) to resolve design issues. -Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. -The ability to read electrical wiring diagrams. -Basic understanding of computer systems, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). -Experience designing, and engineering HVAC control systems, including developing sequence of operations and equipment selection. -Strong written and verbal communication skills. -Proficiency with reading and creating layout drawings to guide system installation (e.g., sensor locations, panel placement) -Ability to develop Bills of Material (BOM). -Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical plans. -Experience interacting with external stakeholders, such as consulting engineers, contractors, and building owners. -Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to navigate and resolve issues empathetically and professionally. -Strong understanding of project documents, scopes of work, and the ability to interpret contract drawings and specifications. -Be able to spend significant time standing and walking. -Highly experienced in Design Specialist Level I position -BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or a related technical field. Experience in the BAS field can supersede a degree. -Experience maintaining or contributing to internal standards, libraries, or best practices for system design and engineering. -Be able to lift up to 30lbs. -3+ years of experience in HVAC, building automation. -Be physically able to kneel, stoop and crawl. -Thorough understanding of HVAC operations, particularly within commercial or industrial facilities. -Ability to design large projects with some deviation using standard tools, products, and practices. -Be able to lift and carry, drawings, personal computers, material, and spend significant time sitting etc. -Background in both design and ongoing support/service engineering for installed building systems -Proficiency in engineering design software or drafting tools such as AutoCAD and Microsoft Visio CDT. -Be able to climb flights of stairs throughout a typical day. -MS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or a related technical field. Experience in the BAS field can supersede a degree. -5+ years of experience in HVAC, building automation. -Experience with AutoCAD and/or Visio.
