The Role

Overview

Field and office geologist supporting environmental remediation investigations

Tasks

-Utilizing various techniques to generate data from remedial or investigative field work. Field work includes but is not limited to soil/groundwater/vapor sampling, soil boring/monitoring well installations with various drilling techniques (i.e., DPT, HSA, sonic, air rotary, mud-rotary, etc.), operations and maintenance of remedial systems, etc. -Proposing appropriate analytical methods and techniques. Assisting in providing advice and consulting services within scope of scientific knowledge. -Performing work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision. -Developing knowledge of job-specific federal, state, and local laws and regulations and assigned job specifications. -Interpreting and recording data, conducting analyses, comparing findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations. -Detecting problems when using standardized procedures because of the condition of sample, difficulties with the equipment, etc.

What You Bring

-Prior Federal government security clearance is a plus. -Familiarity with State and Federal Environmental Regulations -Professional Geologist license or in process of obtaining (GIT) -Experience with O&M and optimization of groundwater remediation systems. -Experience sampling for PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) in soil and water in accordance with current USEPA sampling protocols. -As a condition of employment, candidates must pass a drug screening -Current OSHA 30-Hr Construction Training -Experience working in State and Federal Programs -Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position. -BA/BS in Geology or related field + 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education -Current OSHA 40-hr Hazardous Waste Operations Training -Proficient experience with ArcGIS and/or CAD -As a condition of employment, candidates must pass a medical screening -Valid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review -3+ years of experience performing and leading site investigations that included soil/groundwater/vapor sampling, soil boring/monitoring well installations with various drilling techniques (i.e., DPT, HSA, sonic, air rotary, mud-rotary, etc.), analytical data interpretation and reporting -Masters Degree in Geology or related field
