Tasks

-Risk Management: Identify and manage risks associated with the project, ensuring that any issues are resolved quickly and effectively. -Preparation of highways designs for construction projects and coordinating with other disciplines input into the design -Design includes drawings, design details, specifications, bill of quantities and design calculations -Taking ownership of updating project plans and managing document control using SharePoint -Implementing the correct QA//QM procedures for projects, assisting with the completion of Project Execution Plans and to carry out any actions as a result -Team Leadership: Lead and motivate the design team, ensuring that they are working effectively and efficiently. -Maintaining project commercial risk registers -Coordinating technical decision logs -Coordinating inputs from technical disciplines and ensuring that project information is disseminated throughout the teams -Attendance at client and internal progress meetings and maintaining actions trackers -Raising orders for supply chain partners’ technical support -Project Management: Manage the overall project, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation. Ensure that all project milestones are met and that the project is completed on time and within budget. -Planning and delivery of project deliverables and milestones -Client Liaison: Act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring that their needs are met and that they are kept informed of progress throughout the project. -Liaison with discipline leads and preparing updates to scheme programmes ensuring inter-dependencies and programme logic are applied -Compilation of task assignment documents and arranging internal approvals -Overseeing the preparation of fee proposals and change control documents -Supporting the preparation of design H&S risk management plans and schedules -Design Management: Oversee the design process, ensuring that all design work is completed to the highest standards and meets the client's requirements. This includes managing the design team, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring that all design work is completed on time and within budget. -Quality Assurance: Ensure that all design work meets the highest standards of quality and that any issues are resolved quickly and effectively. -Preparation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for site surveys and participating in site visits as required -Supporting the management of internal processes for financial reporting including forecasting

What You Bring

-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal and the ability to report to senior level. -Experience in design management and project management. -Proven track record of successfully leading design projects from inception to completion. -Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. -Strong leadership and team management skills. -Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure. -Holder of a relevant professional qualification (IENG of CENg) or close to obtaining a professional qualification.
