Tasks

-Driving best practice in technical activities, processes, policies and standards. -Lead the review and implementation of traffic management plans developed by the Design and Build Contractors, ensuring that the plans cover coordination with key internal and external stakeholders such as Local Authorities -Interpretation of traffic signal modelling reports, junction modelling and data to inform and steer project design. -Dealing with a range of stakeholders at all levels across the organisation influencing the improvement of processes and providing guidance to support project delivery and reporting -Ensure learnings in relation to traffic management is disseminated across the BusConnects Programme -Manage complex traffic engineering/safety and traffic planning studies and develop designs to support the traffic management plans, also act as a lead traffic designer -Work with Contractors and Dublin City Council to optimise signals within traffic controllers, Adaptive Signal Control, Transit Signal Priority, and other traffic signal technology. -Oversee all traffic management design inputs input across the project assuring that they are designed in accordance with codes of practice, relevant standards and best international practice -Ensure coordination across Schemes in relation to traffic management arrangements, ensuring that the approaches to traffic management plans taken by each of the Design and Build Contracts are aligned to eliminate the potential for conflicts -Ensure the relevant permits/licences are in place to facilitate the Contractors Traffic Management Design once approved by the NEC4 PM

What You Bring

-Formal training / certification in Chapter 8 is desirable -A good grasp of 3D design using AutoCAD Civils 3D. -Willingness to challenge in a positive and engaging manner. -Safe pass accreditation is desirable -A curiosity and awareness of developing technologies and best practice in the industry. -The successful candidate will have a Level 8 Analytical or Engineering degree (or equivalent) -Appropriate professional status (or working towards) with a membership of a relevant professional chartered institute, or eligible for membership of a relevant professional chartered institute. -Extensive traffic management experience in live urban environments and a good understanding of design regulations -Possess a full, clean driving license. -Working knowledge of Irish health and safety regulations. -Knowledge of quality management and process improvement practices and systems is desirable, preferably within the construction sector.
