Tasks

FZ is looking for an Accounting Lead for our Grand Rapids, MI office. This role will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, documenting and reporting financial data as well as using expertise to provide others with information to make data-driven business decisions. This role is also integral in regulatory and financial reporting, month-end close processes, internal control procedures, assisting with the accounting operations of the company and ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. -A Scorekeeper. You understand the importance of measuring progress and results. You document, you track and analyze data, use metrics, and keep reporting up-to-date. You communicate pertinent information to others before little problems become big problems and will speak out when things are getting off track. You hold yourself accountable for your work and take pride in helping others make informed financial decisions.

What You Bring

-Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Excel required. -Willing and able to work within established processes and procedures as well as drive continuous improvement. -Highly analytical and detail orientated with advanced data analysis skills. -Demonstrated experience using consultative skills and subject matter expertise to become a trusted advisor. -Detail Oriented. You are committed to thorough analysis and pay attention to the details, understanding that it’s imperative to have effective organizational and analytic skills. You know it’s up to you to be focused and keep track of the many details of financial data and compliance. Due to your analytical nature, you can find innovative solutions within the details. -Demonstrated professionalism, positive attitude, and customer focus (internal and external). -3 or more years of experience in accounting or a finance-related role. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills. -Possess sound decision making and problem-solving abilities; takes initiative to solve problems. -Possess organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously. -Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA preferred. -Comfortable with coaching and mentoring others on the finance team and sharing subject matter expertise. -Experience in percentage completion accounting, work in process schedules, and job costing as well as experience in preparing consolidated financial statements preferred. -Ability to manage self to meet deadlines and team expectations; demonstrated time management and prioritization skills.
