Certified electrician for maintenance, troubleshooting and PLC work at West Fraser plywood plant.

Tasks

-Ensure reliable operation of all electrical equipment across the plywood facility. -Work at heights using lifts and fall protection equipment when necessary. -Maintain a safe work environment and follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE. -Support consistent product quality by monitoring processes and providing feedback. -Accurately verify and document work using computer-based maintenance software. -Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC systems (AB PLC5, Control Logix 5000, HMI). -Complete construction and installation projects as required. -Perform troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on various equipment in collaboration with other trades. -Conduct VFD troubleshooting and programming.

What You Bring

-Solid organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. -Flexibility to work a rotating shift schedule (days, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays). -Understanding of process controls and instrumentation, including electric-over-pneumatic or hydraulic systems. -Strong commitment to safety in the workplace. -Previous experience in the wood products industry or other industrial environments. -Ability to collaborate effectively with other trades and team members. -Valid Journeyperson Electrician Certification (Red Seal required if certified outside Alberta). -Proven troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical abilities. -Several years of experience as a certified electrician.
