Senior Geospatial Analyst - Calibration Analyst

Overview

Calibrate and process LiDAR data, ensure QA/QC, create GIS products.

Tasks

-Creating Scripts/Models/Macros in multiple GIS/Lidar platforms -Assess point cloud characteristics including noise, gaps, overlap, and vertical/horizontal accuracy. -Report writing; -Quality checks on data post acquisition -Review and validate post-processed LiDAR data sets for completeness and accuracy. -Create and manipulate databases; -Processing and extraction of Lidar data from raw formats -Document QA/QC findings and communicate results to project managers and technical staff. -Verify that data meets point density, spatial distribution, and classification requirements. -Performing relative and absolute adjustments to Lidar data (calibration/alignment/registration) -Perform QAQC on processed data to ensure it meets rigorous accuracy requirements -Perform quality checks against project specifications, industry standards, and client guidelines. -Create a variety of digital mapping/remotely sensed products using various software platforms;

What You Bring

-Experience in either Lidar data extraction and/or swath alignment -Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, or related field. -Problem solving; -PLTS tool kit experience a plus. -5 +years of experience in the GIS/Remote Sensing Field. -Proficiency in basic computer applications, especially MS Office (Word, Excel, and Access). -Lidar macro creation -Strong verbal and written communication skills. -Airborne and/or mobile trajectory processing -Elevation data processing and manipulation; -Only recipients of an offer of employment from Dewberry, will be required to submit to a background screening which may include, but is not limited to, employment verification, educational and other credential verification, driving record check, criminal background check, and an investigative consumer report. These screenings will be conducted by Dewberry’s background vendor of choice and will be conducted in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local law. -At this time, Dewberry will not sponsor a new applicant for work authorization. -Required experience in Lidar processing and elevation model creation/manipulation. -In-depth knowledge of ESRI's software
