Welder (Site Based)

Overview

Perform structural steel welding on site per blueprints and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• rigging installation

Tasks

-Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications -Install various types of rigging and other hoisting equipment -Discover pathways for advancement within Northern Strands Group of Companies -Participation in the preparation and following of safety procedures & permits throughout the course of their work -Assemble and/or installation of new or modified structural steel components -Disassembly and/or removal of existing structural steel components

What You Bring

-Ability to work alone or in a team environment -Valid 5A Driver’s License is required -Strong time-management skills -Comfortable working at heights -Ability to follow instructions -Strong attention to detail -Experience in a construction environment is considered an asset -Operator hoisting and lifting devices -Ability to use judgement and apply discretion when making decisions -Valid fall protection certification -Experience working in a safety-sensitive environment -Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 50 pounds -CWB certification FCAW All Position, SMAW All Position
