The Role

Overview

Plan and optimize engineering activities for solar facilities, covering O&M, projects, and budgeting.

Tasks

-Propose improvements and evaluate new technologies to minimize operating costs, risk and potential losses and maximize potential generation. -Optimize strategies for operating facilities and support repower -Support with development, revision and quality control of preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programs, policies and procedures. -Act as an engineering project manager for projects assigned. -Participate in development of RFP’s, specifications and drawings, proposal review and contract award, tendering phase, quality assurance and finalization. -Assist in capital and maintenance budget preparation and prioritize, plan and schedule of work budgeted. -Assist self-perform teams in troubleshooting and repair, and equipment selection of solar equipment. -Review the preventive and corrective maintenance reports to ensure compliance and identify issues. -Coordinate with internal teams and third-party engineering firms for special projects. -Support with contract administration to ensure compliance with permits, policies and codes. -Perform site audits and work with contractors and self-perform teams to improve the health of the sites.

What You Bring

-Excellent inter personnel and facilitation skills. -Ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team and to manage multiple concurrent projects. -3+ years of relevant experience, preferably in Solar Operations & Maintenance, Development or Construction. -BS Degree in Engineering, electrical preferred -Travel Expectation: 15-35% -Proficient with Microsoft applications. -Experience in Energy Storage technologies is an asset. -Knowledge of National Electric Code, PVSyst, and other modeling software -Strong verbal and written communication skills and planning, prioritizing and organizing abilities. -Familiarity with applicable OSHA standards
