The Role

Overview

Fit and fabricate metal components per blueprints for structural steel production.

Tasks

-Remove rust, mill scale, and foreign objects using grinder with wire wheel or wire brush to ensure proper cleaning of parts. -Align parts using jacks, turnbuckles, overhead cranes, pins, wedges, and hammers. -Tack Weld pieces together as needed. -Cut and wash materials with torches (Oxy Fuel or Plasma) according to specifications. -Read blueprints or other specifications to determine the scope of the work and the materials required. -Measure and mark materials to specifications per blueprints. -Ensure compliance with regulations, safety standards, and company policies at all times. -Identify parts for assembly in the proper order.

What You Bring

-Must be able to interpret blueprints and other technical drawings. -Excellent communication skills. -Ability to stand, bend, twist, and reach for extended periods of time. -High school diploma or equivalent. -Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment. -Ability to lift and move up to 50lbs. -Must be able to meet or exceed daily production goals. -Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. -Ability to utilize hand tools, welding equipment, and other fabrication equipment. -Minimum of 1 year experience in metal fabrication, fitting, or welding. -Ability to work in an environment that may be noisy, and/or require PPE.
