Sheet-Metal Apprentice

Overview

Assist in installing HVAC sheet‑metal ductwork, reading blueprints, cutting and assembling components.

Tasks

-Help read and understand blueprints and layouts for ductwork and equipment placement. -Assist in the installation of sheet metal ductwork for HVAC systems under the direction of a Lead or Foreman. -Support the team in both new construction and retrofit projects. -Measure, cut, and assemble sheet metal components according to specifications. -Attend team meetings and training sessions as required. -Follow all SMACNA standards, company policies, and safety procedures. -Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure tools and materials are ready for daily tasks.

What You Bring

-Able to lift materials and work safely on ladders or in confined spaces. -Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. -Able to safely lift 50 pounds. -Strong attention to detail and pride in quality work. -Good problem-solving and teamwork skills. -Willingness to learn and follow instructions closely. -Encon is a drug free workplace and requires post-offer pre-employment drug testing. -Dependable with excellent attendance. -Able to work in a variety of extreme weather, hot and cold conditions. -Some experience or coursework in sheet metal or HVAC installation preferred. -Able to work safely at elevated heights such as rooftops, ceilings, and ladders. -Basic knowledge of hand and power tools used in sheet metal work. -Able to work safely in confined spaces such as attics, basements, closets, and crawl spaces. -Communicate clearly with the Lead, installers, and other team members. -Able to walk on uneven surfaces. -Must have reliable transportation. -Able to work off a ladder, sometimes at heights. -Able to bend, crawl, stoop, stretch, and reach. -This position requires a valid driver’s license.
