Key Responsibilities
- fleet engineering
- system integration
- data architecture
- feasibility analysis
- technical specs
- client collaboration
Tasks
-Stay current with industry standards, regulatory frameworks, and emerging technologies (e.g., V2G, microgrids, AI-based fleet optimization). -Conduct feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and risk assessments for ZEV deployment, considering lifecycle, resilience, and maintainability. -Lead fleet engineering efforts for transit and fleet electrification projects, including diesel, hybrid, battery-electric and hydrogen fuel cell buses. -Support commissioning, testing, and handover of digital systems, ensuring as-built compliance and system acceptance. -Define data architecture requirements to enable predictive maintenance, fleet optimization, and energy efficiency improvements. -Provide technical input during technical and digital workshops led by the PM, ensuring feasibility of integration choices. -Develop, author, and review technical specifications, functional requirements, and integration plans for vehicle systems, charging infrastructure, and digital solutions (Telematics, CAD/AVL, battery degradation modeling, Asset Management Planning, Depot and Yard Management, SCADA, IoT, Charging and Energy Management Systems, Interoperability). -Support procurement processes by preparing technical evaluation criteria, vendor compliance checklists, and contributing to bid evaluations. -Specify and oversee integration of charging management systems, yard management systems, SCADA, telemetry, and fleet management systems for real-time monitoring and diagnostics. -Collaborate with clients (transit agencies, municipalities, private operators) to define operational requirements, transition roadmaps, and technology selection. -Coordinate with civil, electrical, and IT/OT teams to ensure seamless infrastructure and system integration. -Apply resilience engineering practices (redundancy, failover, cybersecurity hardening) and ensure modularity for system upgrades and updates. -Transpose client needs into formal requirements registers. -Define system architecture and data flows between vehicles, digital platforms, and infrastructure to ensure seamless end-to-end integration. -Enhance the world around you - from the environment to the highways, to the buildings and the terrain, WSP is the fabric of Canada.
