What You Bring
Disclaimer : Due to the nature of the project, UK/ EU citizenship is mandatory to be able to clear the background checks and obtain SC clearance. We have a requirement for an experienced Test Systems or Test Equipment (TE) development engineer. The work will involve formalising the TE design for a Design Verification Test (DVT) system, based on an existing prototype test set-up, expanding and improving functionality of the system to meet test requirements and ensuring that each stage of the TE development process from Requirements through to Qualification is completed. Previous experience of LabVIEW / Test stand (although proprietary, in-house Test software will be used for this application). Experience of working in multi-disciplined Engineering teams. Use of General Purpose TE (i.e. spectrum analysers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, etc) & experience of running test scripts. Experience of Requirements management tools such as DOORS. Experience of full TE development lifecycle, from establishing test requirements through to qualification / acceptance of TE. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. HND / HNC or degree (BSc / BEng) in a relevant STEM-based subject. Previous TE development experience for complex, high-reliability systems. Candidates should currently be employed as a Test Systems engineer / Test Equipment development engineer with experience of test system design for complex, high-reliability systems, including Commercial OFF The Shelf (COTS) / custom hardware and test software. Ideally, we are looking someone with previous experience in Radar TE development but candidates with experience of other aerospace/ defence applications, space, nuclear, automotive or transportation sectors will be considered. Able to generate high-quality test documentation (test requirements, TE specifications, TE design data, user documentation, qualification / acceptance test documents & reports). Previous TE development experience for Radar or EW systems. Experience of developing TE for DVT, ESS (Extended Stress Screening) & Qualification testing. HND / HNC or degree (BSc / BEng) in Electronics Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or Mathematics.
