Tasks

The CFO will play a pivotal role in managing all aspects of financial performance, reporting, and compliance. This includes strategic financial planning, project profitability oversight, cash flow management, and business forecasting. You will work closely with the ownership and executive leadership to ensure financial stability and sustainable growth. -Implement process improvements and financial systems to improve accuracy and efficiency. -Manage relationships with banks, auditors, insurance, and bonding companies. -Supervise and develop accounting and finance staff. -Lead all financial operations including accounting, budgeting, and forecasting. -Provide data-driven insights to support executive decision-making. -Partner with project management and estimating teams to align financial goals with operational execution. -Oversee project-level financial performance - job costing, WIP reports, cash flow, and cost-to-complete analysis. -Ensure compliance with GAAP and construction industry financial standards.

What You Bring

-Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (CPA or MBA preferred). -Experience managing financial operations for self-perform or GC-based construction businesses. -10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including CFO, Controller, or VP of Finance roles within a construction or contracting environment. -Proficiency in construction accounting software (Viewpoint, Foundation, Sage, or similar). -Strong understanding of job costing, WIP, percentage-of-completion accounting, and construction billing. -Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. -Proven ability to partner closely with ownership and senior leadership teams.
