The Role

Overview

Conduct environmental investigations, monitoring, and remediation projects as a staff geologist.

Tasks

-Subcontractor contracting, scheduling, and management of field activities. -Work closely with project teams and field personnel to complete and review projects within scope, budget and schedule. -Prepare Phase I environmental site assessments -Execute and guide environmental site assessments, including subsurface soil and low-flow groundwater sampling, monitoring well installation, soil characterization and logging, etc. -Prepare environmental investigation work plans, reports, feasibility studies, etc. -Perform project and task management duties on remediation projects.

What You Bring

-Experience assisting with or conducting Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and Phase II environmental site investigations -Demonstrated aptitude performing environmental field monitoring activities, including collection of soil and groundwater samples, logging soil borings, installing and developing groundwater monitoring wells, data analysis, and authoring reports -Strong problem-solving abilities, interpersonal skills, and ability to work within a team framework -Previous consulting experience is a plus. Experience investigating coal combustion residuals (CCR) at regulated facilities is strongly preferred. -Experience with and working knowledge of State and Federal Regulations -Self-motivation and the ability to self-manage and multi-task (write reports, analyze data, perform design tasks, etc.) -Experience in the field supporting remedial actions, including emergency response, excavation oversight, in-situ treatments, soils and waste management, site restoration, etc. -Ability to travel and work in the field, up to 30%, as required. -Bachelor’s degree in Geology or closely related field from an accredited program. -Minimum of 4 years of related professional experience completing environmental investigations, analyzing and summarizing investigation data, preparing environmental reports, etc.
