The Role

Overview

Performs field testing of concrete, masonry, soil, and asphalt for construction projects.

Tasks

-Performs field density testing on soil, concrete, asphalt and other construction materials. -Relays information to project manager and/or engineer, with limited in-field decision making. -Assists other technicians or professional staff on tasks and supports other departments as necessary. -Follows Atlas’ safety policies and procedures. -Performs construction-related field tests as directed by the Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Manager and Senior Engineer. -Enters daily field observation reports and summary reports electronically. -Performs field quality control tests of concrete and masonry construction. -Transports equipment, test specimens and/or documents to field personnel, laboratory, clients or other offices, and provides physical assistance in equipment set-up.

What You Bring

-Nuclear Gauge User Safety Certification (NEPA, FERC etc.)EPA, FERC etc.) -Valid driver’s license. -1-year minimum experience with concrete, masonry, soils, and asphalt testing and Inspections. -Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specs -Works well independently. -ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician - Grade 1 -Special Inspection experience including Firestop, FF/FL, RH & pH, Bolting Insp -Ability to follow Atlas' QC plan and SOP's -Secondary education within the field. e.g. Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Geology, etc. -Valid ICC, NICET, NETTCP, or other pertinent industry certifications. -Materials Laboratory experience would be a plus. -High school diploma or equivalent. -Must be willing to travel near the reporting office and surrounding areas as required by assignments. -Physical strength, stamina and dexterity to lift and move 50 lbs, stoop, bend, and stand throughout the course of a day in varying weather conditions in varying terrain.
