The Role

Overview

Perform utility locating, vacuum excavation, and supervise field crew for SUE projects.

Tasks

-Will sometimes be lifting heavy equipment up to 80 lbs. -Supervise activities of field crew. -Designate existing utilities using electromagnetic and geophysical technologies. -Utilize appropriate maintenance of traffic. -Represent Colliers in the field and communicate/coordinate with utility companies. -Work with a team of talented individuals to help tackle a wide variety of projects. -Call “One-Call” tickets. -Train junior crew members. -Coordinate survey work in relation with SUE. -Operate and drive a vacuum excavation truck and perform test holes to expose utilities. -Read and interpret utility records, as-built and survey drawings and highway design plans.

What You Bring

-Minimum 5 year experience providing utility designating/locating services. -Should enjoy working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. -Need to have good driving skills and a clean driving record. -Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions. -Must be able to quickly grasp new technologies. -Need to be able to occasionally travel out of town and work overtime. -Should be able to walk long distances of several miles daily. -Should have basic computer skills and be able to learn and understand new software. -Need to have a high level of reading comprehension and communication skills.
