Tasks

The Accounting Specialist - General Ledger will be responsible for performing and/or assisting with all types of accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, and other related functional areas. This position will serve as a back-up for the payroll function, requiring continued involvement in the process to remain current. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of manufacturing accounting processes and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. -Work closely with plant personnel to assist with accounting and financial-related needs -Support full-cycle accounts payable and the accounts receivable activities at the plant level -Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations -Perform bank and credit card reconciliations -Assist with audits and corporate tax preparation as needed -Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts -Maintain accurate and organized financial records -Entry and posting of journal entries -Support cash entries and daily cash reporting activities -Assist with various nuisance and property tax filings and other regulatory reporting requirements -Communicate effectively with vendors, customers, and internal departments -Perform payroll processing in a back-up capacity, including all related reports and tasks -Assist with preparation of financial statements and reports -Support month-end and year-end closing processes

What You Bring

-Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills -Strong knowledge of AP, AR, and general ledger -Strong Excel skills and comfort with technology -Prefer Associate Degree with a business or accounting concentration -3+ years of payroll processing experience -Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines -Solid understanding of accounting principles -Proficiency with accounting software, preferably in ERP systems -3+ years of full-charge bookkeeping experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment -HS Diploma or Equivalent -Strong communication and interpersonal skills -Exceptional ability to work independently and dive deep into tasks
