Tasks
The Database Administrator/Data Engineer II will design, implement, and support backend database systems and critical applications. The role will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance, and support both internal users and business-critical systems. -Implement Power BI workspace governance. -Apply patches, update, and manage user permissions. -Build semantic models and datasets. -Maintain clear technical documentation and standard operating procedures -Ensure data integrity during migrations, updates, and access control. -Install, configure, and maintain relational (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and/or NoSQL databases. -Share knowledge and support junior team members. -Monitor, tune, and optimize database performance; manager and automate backups. -Partner with IT team on projects; assists in application rollouts and infrastructure upgrades.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. -Strong analytical, problem-solving aptitude, and attention to detail. -Knowledge of virtualization, scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python), cloud platforms (e.g., AWS/Azure), or DevOps tooling is advantageous. -Experience with AI principles is a plus. -Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field—or equivalent hands-on experience. -Adhere to ITIL or related operational frameworks. -Data warehousing (ETL) -Real-time integration utilizing web services and integration middleware. -Cloud-based database solutions (e.g., Azure, AWS) -4-8 years in direct database administration/data engineering. -Demonstrated experience building Power BI solutions (models, DAX, refresh strategies) and production pipelines. -Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) -Experience with SQL-based systems
