Manage design and development of new engineering products and projects.

Tasks

-Informs stakeholders of project cost, project status and progress toward key deliverables. -Checks and releases completed work assigned to Engineers -Responsible for project planning including estimating and managing resources and completion dates. -Develops special designs to meet specifications and customer requirements and provides the essential supporting documentation. -Prepares Bills of Material (BOM) and provides purchasing department with specifications for ordering raw materials and components required for fabrication and assembly -Interfaces with production during product build to insure product compliance with design formation and delivery requirements -Responsible for the design of new products and/or special projects -Trains and develops engineers. Develops technical and managerial competence of direct reports.

What You Bring

-Application knowledge of mobile drilling equipment or similar off-highway vehicles -Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to compile and present technical data clearly and concisely -Working knowledge in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software (Siemens Teamcenter or similar) -Able to generate creative solutions to problems and work in a fast-paced environment which requires multi-tasking -Must have the ability to prioritize/re-prioritize tasks, carry out root cause analysis, and deal with scheduling conflicts -Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Masters degree will be advantageous. -Experience with structural design, hydraulics, low voltage (12V/24V), systems and controls, powertrain, cooling systems/thermodynamics -Bold and open minded -Experience with PTC Creo Parametric or equivalent 3D CAD software -Must be a decision maker who can work under minimum supervision -Excellent technical problem solving skills - review and validate technical calculations and analysis -Familiarity with manufacturing of heavy equipment such as mining, construction, or agriculture products -Minimum of 7 years of work experience- Strong understanding of engineering principles, standards, and processes -An energetic self-starter, highly motivated, strong negotiation skills
