Tasks
-To perform weekly fleet and plant checks ensuring fleet, plant and equipment maintenance is carried out and calibrated within the correct timescales. -Ensuring all operatives driving company vehicles adhere to company policy, where necessary interventions to be carried out to coach or take disciplinary action against offenders that is relevant to the offence committed. -Perform quality on site assessments checks (x8 Audits per month) -Ensure any vehicle or equipment damage and breakdowns are reported to the correct Managers and Department and booked in with the relevant departments using the Hive system. -Ensure all Risk Assessments, Near Misses and Lift and Calibration documents are completed for each job and Vehicle. -Submit accurate records into the sales sheet for works completed each day, ensuring all information is correct, accurate and within budget. -Liaise with customers, clients, local authorities and other interested third parties regarding past, present, and future works. -Sign and collect all drivers’ hours sheets weekly ensuring they are correct and handed into the transport Manager weekly. -Managing subcontractors who have come onto the contract to carry out works on our behalf. -Ensure all Timesheets are submitted within the timescales set by payroll -Carry out daily planning ensuring all shifts are fulfilled and that the correct number of operatives are on shifts and available to complete all necessary works. -Attend planned managerial meetings and training that maybe required outside your normal working hours. -Give direction/advice to the teams to ensure they have done everything possible to complete the works they have been requested to carry out, this applies to all teams including Core nights teams. -Liaise with the Scheduling team prior to the teams shifts to run through works that have been issued for the evening. -Ensure all information and updates from the works completed or partially completed for that evening are passed back to the relevant area Site Manager to allow them to feed back to the client. -Manage all day-to-day HR queries ensuring all updates are added to the HR system, and all HR processes and procedures are followed in accordance with the company HR policy. -Comply with relevant company HSEQ and welfare policy provisions. -Produce rota’s to allow operatives and managers to understand their shift requirements for each week, ensure these are visible to the management team through Microsoft Teams. -Oversea site setups of over pumping, Mitigation and Tankering locations in accordance with the company’s safe systems of works and Tankering Process. -Ensure all teams carrying out works are contacting yourself prior to partially completing any works when they are unable to complete the works fully. -To manage and assess the competencies of all operatives on site through the competency assessment programme. -Ensure all operative Training records and ID Cards are kept up to date. Ensure that any operatives due for renewal have been booked onto the next available courses prior to them expiring. -Ensuring all Operatives have appropriate vehicles, equipment, stores, and skills to perform allocated work. -Conduct detailed and thorough site visits, to ensure all the correct data is passed to the scheduling team to plan works in correctly. -Ensure all planning boards are kept up to date and added to the planning group. -Liaise with the Recruitment department where required to notify them of any requirements. To vet potential candidates and carry out detailed interviews for the role applied for.

What You Bring
-A valid drivers licence with no more than 6 penalty points -Must have commercial awareness and understand basic business finance e.g., Capital revenue expenditure, cash-flow, overheads, etc. -Understanding health and safety legislation. -Proven experience in leading a delivery team with the ability to lead and motivate people. -IOSH managing safely. -Must have the skills and confidence to supervise and coordinate site requirements and tasks. -In depth knowledge of street works regulations. -Ability to manage a budget. -Computer Literate -Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively, particularly to external parties such as the client, their customers, and local authorities.
