The Role

Overview

Lead water treatment engineering, modeling, compliance, and mentorship in BC

Tasks

-Travel as needed for project site visits and client meetings. -Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project staff. -Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement innovative water treatment solutions. -Provides visible industry and technical leadership within and outside of AECOM -Lead the modeling and simulation of water treatment processes, utilizing advanced computational tools and techniques. -Ensure designs comply with all applicable environmental regulations and standards. -Assist with the planning and pursuit of new business opportunities. -Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and documentation for regulatory submissions. -Engage with stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, clients, and community members, to discuss project developments and compliance matters. -Conduct assessments and identify areas for improvement in existing water treatment systems.

What You Bring

-Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant engineering experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and education in water treatment engineering, with a focus on developing client focused solutions while achieving modeling and regulatory compliance -Strong knowledge of water quality standards, treatment processes, and environmental regulations. -Master's degree in related field or demonstrated experience -20+ years of experience in water treatment engineering, with a focus on developing client focused solutions while achieving modeling and regulatory compliance -Uses creativity, foresight and mature judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented technical problems. -Experience understanding client challenges and developing practical engineering solutions. -Advanced knowledge of water treatment processes, technologies, and industry best practices -Expertise in water treatment modeling software and data analysis tools -AWWA certifications or other relevant water treatment specialties preferred -Registered as a Professional Engineer in the province of BC (or eligible to become registered within 12 months) -Strong understanding of local, provincial, and federal regulations related to water treatment and quality
