Lead a geospatial analytics, GIS, and data engineering team in India, liaising with UK.

Tasks

-Provide technical guidance in Geospatial Analytics, including spatial data modeling, analysis, and visualization. -Design, implement, and maintain data architecture for geospatial datasets, ensuring high performance, scalability, and security. -Serve as the subject matter expert in either Geospatial Analytics, GIS, or Data Engineering, with a working knowledge of the others. -Lead the integration of geospatial data with engineering workflows to extract insights and improve decision-making. -Oversee data engineering efforts, including data pipeline development, ETL processes, and data integration from multiple sources into Azure-based cloud environments. -Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team of professionals in Geospatial Analytics, GIS, and Data Engineering. -Ensure timely delivery of high-quality results, optimizing team workflows and processes where needed, within times and budgets agreed with the UK, minimum 40% project delivery. -Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring they align with business goals. -Support the team in solving complex geospatial and data engineering challenges, ensuring the use of best practices. -Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders to promote GIS-driven insights in business decision-making. -Present project updates, analytical findings, and reports to senior leadership, clients, or other stakeholders. Ensure alignment of team objectives with broader organizational goals and key business metrics. -Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment, focusing on both individual growth and team success. -Implement machine learning and geospatial data analysis techniques to provide advanced insights, patterns, and predictions. -Develop and optimize spatial data models to support real-time analytics and geospatial visualizations. -Act as the primary point of contact between the UK team and the GCC, translating complex geospatial and data insights into actionable recommendations. -Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and identify training opportunities to support career development. -Oversee the planning and execution of projects focused on Geospatial Analytics and Data Engineering. -Lead the design, development, and implementation of GIS solutions using tools such as ArcGIS, OpenLayers, and other geospatial analytics platforms.

What You Bring

-Have demonstrable line management capability -Strong expertise in Azure cloud services, including Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks, and Azure Data Factory. -Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices. -Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geospatial Analytics, GIS, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field. -Proficiency in data engineering languages such as SQL and Python. -Stakeholder Engagement: Deep expertise in Geospatial Analytics, GIS, or Data Engineering, with working knowledge of the other areas. -Proficiency in geospatial analysis tools such as ArcGIS, QGIS, Open layers and programming languages like Python or R for spatial data manipulation. -Experience with geospatial data visualization, modelling, and machine learning techniques is a plus. -Proven ability to lead and develop multidisciplinary teams through collaboration and Teamwork. -Familiarity with data pipelines, cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure), and databases such as SQL Server. -Proven experience managing or leading technical teams, especially in geospatial or data-focused projects. -Knowledge of AI/ML applications in geospatial analytics. -Employment with WSP India is subject to the successful completion of a background verification (“BGV”) check conducted by a third-party agency appointed by WSP India. -Be willing to undertake periodic visits to the UK -Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. -Strong communication skills, particularly in translating technical geospatial concepts into business-oriented insights with report writing expertise. -Strong organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail. -15 + years of experience in a technical role, with a strong focus on geospatial data and analytics, GIS, or Data Engineering.
