  • Develop and implement Environmental Management Plans (EMPs), ensuring full integration into construction methodologies and project execution plans.
  • Collaborate closely with the wider Parsons Environmental and Sustainability team, ensuring program-level alignment and knowledge sharing.
  • Implement best practices in corporate, ethical, and social responsibility, ensuring project delivery meets international sustainability benchmarks such as ISO 14001 and LEED/BREEAM equivalents.
  • Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIAs), risk analyses, and cost-benefit evaluations to reduce the project’s ecological footprint and operational costs.
  • Audit, analyze, and report environmental performance indicators to clients, Parsons management, and relevant authorities, recommending corrective and preventive actions.
  • Coordinate all aspects of pollution prevention, waste management, recycling, environmental health, conservation, and renewable energy integration within rail construction activities.
  • Set organizational sustainability targets, develop detailed action plans to achieve them, and track progress through measurable KPIs.
  • Lead and oversee the implementation of environmental and sustainability management systems across all phases of the rail program, ensuring alignment with UAE regulatory frameworks and Parsons’ corporate policies.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, keeping fully up to date with UAE laws, regulations, and international standards.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive environmental reports, assuming overall responsibility for documentation, communication, and regulatory submissions.
  • Liaise and coordinate with government authorities, regulatory agencies, and environmental bodies, including the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD), municipalities, and other stakeholders.
  • Take the lead on sustainable procurement for all goods and services, ensuring suppliers and contractors comply with approved sustainability and environmental criteria.
  • Deliver training, workshops, and capacity-building sessions on environmental compliance and sustainable practices at all project levels.
  • Promote environmental awareness and sustainability culture across the project team and contractors, ensuring all staff understand and meet environmental obligations.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across multicultural teams and high-level stakeholders.
  • Experience coordinating with authorities and clients on environmental permitting, impact assessments, and compliance monitoring.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in environmental management within major rail, metro, or linear infrastructure projects.
  • Deep familiarity with UAE environmental standards, procedures, and approval processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership in environmental auditing, reporting, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong organizational and analytical capabilities with high attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of international environmental regulations and sustainability frameworks.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing environmental management systems for complex, multidisciplinary rail environments.
  • Thorough knowledge of environmental engineering technologies, modeling tools, and software.
