Tasks

-Considering financial elements and impact in design of technical solutions, to develop a holistic work winning position. -Developing, selecting, and applying standardized solutions, procedures, and tools, reporting inefficiencies, and identifying improvement opportunities, of ABB’s standard deliveries and products. -Assisting sales managers with opportunity prospecting, compliance to customer specifications and safety standards, as well as technical details, writeups, costs, and deliverables for sales proposals. -Depending on the opportunities, short term travel to customer locations in the UK and overseas may be required. -Provide early phase technical advisory support, in collaboration with the front end, advising on technical issues, fronting customer workshops and presentations. -Maintaining a strong network of engineering professionals and disseminating engineering best practices to aid colleagues’ development.

What You Bring

-Knowledge of industrial protocols (IEC61850, OPC, Modbus RTU/TCP, Profibus, Profinet) and related software tools (e.g., simulators). -Exposure to hardware design, including cabinet build, heat and power calculations. -Skilled in industrial automation with ICSS & SCADA systems, networks, IEC standards, and cyber security requirements. -Qualified to B.Eng/M.Eng (Automation, Software, Electronics, Systems, Instrumentation) or equivalent, with excellent communication, leadership, and customer-facing skills. -Experienced in supporting proposals and project execution for cyber security projects in the Energy Industries sector. -Strong knowledge of engineering techniques, system and network design, and translating customer specifications into solutions. -Hands-on expertise with ABB control systems (800xA, AC500, SCADA Vantage, Zenon, Freelance); desirable experience with AC800M and other major DCS/PLC/SCADA platforms (Honeywell, Siemens, Yokogawa, Emerson). -Expertise in cyber security for control systems (DCS & SCADA), including risk assessments, compliance (IEC62443, OG86, NIST 800), SIEM/IDS/IPS, and network remediation. -Work model: hybrid from our St Neots, Daresbury or Aberdeen locations {}
