The Role

Overview

Mobile crane mechanic diagnosing, repairing, inspecting, and maintaining cranes.

Tasks

-Tests mechanical, electronic, electrical and hydraulic products and equipment after repair or modification to ensure proper operation and compliance with OEM specifications -Examines parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges -Sets a positive example in punctuality and professional demeanor by respectful communication with all levels of staff, keeping work areas/Field Service Trucks clean & orderly plus promoting safety regulations and all other company programs -Perform thorough and accurate annual inspections -Prepares for jobs by checking parts and drawings for accuracy and completeness -Manufacture approved training/certifications preferred but not required -Operates and inspects cranes in order to diagnose defects -Properly fills out working reports, hour's reports, time sheets, hour's overviews and expense reports -Maintain conformity to safety requirements and other regulations

What You Bring

-Capable of accomplishing tasks independently without direct supervision -History of working with different forms of mobile crane equipment, specifically Grove RT and TMS Cranes; Grove GMK European Cranes; Manitowoc EPIC and/ or Traditional Cranes; National Boom Trucks; Manitex Boom Trucks and Cranes -A minimum of 3 years of relevant driving experience -Ability to lift up to 40lbs -Reads, understands and interprets operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints and technical drawings -Full set of hand tools up to 1.5 inches -A minimum 5 years of experience as a Mobile Crane Mechanic/Technician -Basic computer skills -Demonstrates working knowledge of CANBUS, PAT, EKS, ECOS & MEGA-TRACK system -Ability to work overtime as well as limited weekends -Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
