The Role

Overview

Procure materials, manage purchase orders, negotiate with suppliers, support production schedule.

Tasks

-Maintain SAP Master Data as needed to ensure MRP drives PO release to meet the company's production schedule. -Maintain quality standards and resolve problems related to unsatisfactory materials received. -Review SAP reports/messages to identify potential material exceptions. Communicate & work with suppliers and associated plants to resolve/mitigate shortages. -Assist in the identification and development of alternate sources of supply for key parts and materials. -Support and participate in continuous improvement efforts. -Procure materials and/or component parts in a timely manner, create purchase orders (POs) within the ERP -Participate in the negotiation of suppliers/categories assigned to the Buyer desk. This includes pricing, packaging/shipping, identifying potential suppliers, contract terms, quality, and all other aspects of the procurement program. -System (SAP), and schedule daily deliveries to meet the company's production schedule. -Coordinate with production scheduling, sales and engineering departments to obtain information, resolve problems and identify purchasing requirements for new or redesigned products. -Handle moderately complex issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff. -Meet with suppliers to negotiate favorable pricing and build long-term partnerships. Including accountability for acknowledging daily purchase order confirmations from suppliers and proactively sharing any discrepancies with the appropriate teams. -Participate in value engineering projects. -Assist with communicating new developments in material, equipment and techniques with other departments

What You Bring

-2 Year / associate degree or equivalent years of job experience required. -Once fully trained,10% travel will be required for this role. -Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) with an understanding of ERP/SAP system processes. -4 Year / bachelor’s degree preferred. -Candidates in Tennessee must be willing to travel to Wisconsin once a month to train with the team. -2 - 6 years of relevant work experience in procurement/buying required. -Will work on-site in Schofield, WI or Knoxville, TN. -Wisconsin candidates must be willing to relocate to Knoxville, TN within 6 to 18 months of being hired.
