The Role

Overview

Manage warehouse operations, equipment, shipping and maintenance for BGC.

Tasks

-Coordinate with various suppliers and contractors -Work with management to come up with budgets and or pricing options (quotes), as applicable -Prepare, issue, and collect field equipment and supplies -Support training and safety orientations of staff who may need to work in the warehouse -Purchase and source equipment and supplies -Operate the forklift within the warehouse -Coordinate with the warehouse building manager for repairs and maintenance, as applicable -Ensure the warehouse is well-maintained, organized, clean and safe to work in at all times -Review invoices from suppliers and contractors, compare to work orders, and send to accounting for payment processing -Pick-up and deliver field equipment and supplies to various locations throughout the city -Maintain sufficient consumables stock of equipment and supplies to support BGC projects -Assist other BGC offices on matters related to equipment, and if required, undertake occasional travel to other BGC offices or work sites -Support local and international shipping including preparation of shipping labels and documents, and coordinate with shipping companies -Manage warehouse renovations, moves, repairs and rack reconfigurations -Assist in maintenance of geophysical, instrumentation, and borehole equipment for field projects -Utilize BGC’s asset tracking system and other applications -Track and report any asset that is due for calibration, with an expiring warranty, for repair or replacement, got lost or stolen -Schedule maintenance and ensure BGC fleet trucks are ready for field projects -Perform inspection, maintenance, cleaning and testing on various field equipment -May be requested to respond to alarms (if available), audit staff permissions and edit configurations on the alarm web-portal

What You Bring

-Proficient user of MS Office suite with emphasis on Excel and comfortable learning new technology and software -Knowledge of geophysical and geotechnical tools, instrumentation and monitoring equipment is an asset -Strong oral and written communication skills -Being flexible with work hours and willing to take on various tasks as requested -Ability to lift and carry 50 lb loads regularly -Good understanding of budget tracking and purchasing is an asset -Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License -Familiarity with the use of various hand tools and perform simple repairs at the warehouse -In-person presence at the warehouse full-time. -Completed or willing to complete Radiation Safety and TDG for Portable Gauge Users -Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team -Diploma in Facilities Management is an asset -Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines -Completed or willing to complete CSA Standard B335-15 - Industrial Lift Truck Operator Training -Self-motivated, with strong time management and task prioritization skills -3+ years work experience in managing equipment, including experience in a warehouse setting
