The Role
Overview
Design and inspect municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure using CAD/BIM tools.

Tasks
-Document the site conditions, equipment, manpower usage, material installations, quantities and the work being performed by the Contractor -Prepare civil design drawings and design calculations -Working on complex data sets in conjunction with other CAD and GIS technical staff -Respond to contractor and public inquiries -Ensures deficiencies are corrected prior to acceptance of the work -Assure that engineering related issues are promptly relayed to the Project Manager for action and follows up to assure timeliness of resolution efforts -Inspect all phases of construction to ensure that the work is carried out in accordance to specifications regarding material requirements, alignment, grade, finish, compaction, etc. -Confirm that all onsite testing during installation are in conformance with the Contract Specifications -Ensuring overall data quality and integrity -Assist CAD manager to train and mentor junior CAD staff using AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 and current versions -Design for municipal infrastructure using AutoCAD Civil 3D, BIM Software and MicroStation

What You Bring
-Bachelor's degree in a related field + 4 years of related experience or Diploma/Certificate + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education -Ability to work in field or office conditions, and work and communicate with clients, contractors and other AECOM staff -Experience with complex designs including surface grading, road corridors, water and sewer pipe networks for municipal, transportation or land development projects -Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering -Comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary environment -AutoCAD Civil 3D experience with surface creation, alignment/profile, pipe design, and data management -Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors and clients -Experience with standard coordinate systems, elevation datums, and datum conversions -Strong AutoCAD Civil 3D design experience with ability to visualize and communicate using BIM models. -Excellent attention to detail -Ability to effectively manage design time and coordination to deliver projects -Certified or eligible for certification as a CET and a member of TechNova (or provincial equivalent) -Technical or Associates degree in Civil Engineering Technology (or equivalent)
