The Role

Overview

Create 2D CAD designs, specs and support manufacturing for abrasive products.

Tasks

In short, you will primarily prepare 2D designs from component or supplied dresser drawings and provide manufacturing/design drawings, material lists and manufacturing process routes for existing and bespoke products. -Prepare drawings / designs to support the sales and manufacturing process -Provide product specifications, including product functionality, material BOMs, SAP routing and costing, packaging and progress chasing. -Provide a specialist consultancy service on the design and application of all products, including existing, modified, or new products – consider all aspects of the customers machine fixture design and grinding application e.g. coolant, wheel spec, speeds & feeds -Maintain and update standard drawings and material lists including the checking and coaching of others and ensuring that consistency and goods practice are applied and designs are feasible for manufacture -Ensure that all products are fit for purpose and safe to use, including relevant ancillary equipment and all designs and methods to comply within ISO 9001 and 14001 guidelines -Promote and implement continuous improvement in all areas of the plant through the adoption and implementation of World Class Manufacturing principles, tools and techniques.

What You Bring

You will be based from our Staverton site, 5 days a week. -Proven knowledge and experience of design/drawing process -A practical understanding of manufacturing processes to enable the holder to support the manufacturing process, optimise the design and resolve any technical product issues -Knowledge of numerical analysis and finite element analysis -Not a necessity but a relevant degree (or equivalent) in a mechanical, materials or production engineering related subject -Experience of Solid Edge, AutoCAD and other relevant CAD packages -Degree educated or equivalent, ideally in a mechanical, materials or production engineering related subject
