Overview

Fabricate and fit structural steel components per blueprints in a shop setting.

Key Responsibilities

Tasks

-Inspecting welds and assembled structures for defects and ensuring compliance with quality standards. -Adhere to all safety procedures related to working with power tools, forklifts, overhead cranes, welders, cutting torches and wearing proper PPE. -Precisely marking layout lines with squares, measuring tapes and angle finders to tack components in place ensuring proper fit and tolerances. -Accurately interpret blueprints to understand layout and positioning of components.

What You Bring

-Flux core welding experience preferred -Able to bend, squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, balance, stoop, and reach regularly -Regularly encounter moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and a variety of outside weather conditions -Ability to climb temporary or permanent stairs and ladders -Proficient in various metal fabrication techniques including welding, flame and plasma cutting, grinding and bending. -Ability to stand for extended periods and safely maneuver around various construction equipment and vehicles on an active construction site -Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus -Ability to lift 50 pounds -3 – 5 years’ structural fitting experience preferred
